In more than ten years, the Australian government has updated the "Australian Citizenship Examination" for the first time. The test is an essential step of obtaining citizenship in Australia. The test content is mainly about the understanding of Australian customs, history and society.

 


According to the latest announcement from the Department of Immigration, the English language and residence requirements for Australian citizenship have not changed. Most of the content of the Australian citizenship test remains unchanged, but questions about "national value" will be added, and the changed test content will take effect on 15 November 2020.

 

What are the changes to the new Australian citizenship test?

The new citizenship test includes 20 questions, 5 of which are about Australian values. Applicants must answer all questions about Australian values correctly and obtain at least 75% of the total score to pass the citizenship test.

 

Students who took the Australian citizenship test before 15 November 2020 only took old version, and at least 75% of the total score is required to pass the Australian citizenship test.
